I’m passionate about the way people live, work, and play. For me, the culminating experience where all of this comes together is during a relocation or move.
When you move your lifestyle changes.
Often times it’s a powerful time to take a break and pause — to be intentional about your next steps. Creating the lifestyle and daily habits you want in your new place.
Serious Relocation Experts
Recently I had the benefit of attending the Southeastern Regional Relocation Council’s 2019 Conference in St. Pete, Florida.
The weather was fantastic, the setting was ideal, and the group of attendees was serious about making relocation better for everyone.
Topics included everything from panels from recent relocation customers to the importance of tax laws to corporate mobility planning. Expertise was everywhere at the conference with attendees sharing a strong desire to learn and contribute to the industry.
This is one of the reasons why the moving and relocation industry is amazing. It cares about the individuals and families who move.
The Message of Change in Relocation Management
The purpose for me to be in sunny Florida was to deliver an important message for relocation experts — the industry is changing rapidly.
Over the last 5 years, I have looked at over 2,200 companies in the moving and relocation industry. Evaluating these organizations to find the most disruptive models and people.
In the last 2 years, the number of disruptive companies entering the industry has nearly doubled. Outside competitors, funding, and entrepreneurs are entering the space in every part of the vertical.
My message is clear: Change or Be Compelled to Be Changed
The customer is driving the change forward. Utilizing technology, customers are looking for new ways of working and thinking about the experiences they want. Looking for more convenience and transparency.
Customers are also looking for more cost savings to be driven by technology innovations. My personal mission is to make this happen at Handled — a company driven to help the world feel at home.
The conference was great and I appreciate the opportunity to participate as a keynote speaker. It was an amazing experience.
