One of the best parts of work is being able to connect with excellent people. Recently, I had the opportunity to go to the home office of Hilldrup in Stafford, Virginia. From the moment I entered their building, I could tell they were committed as an organization to excellence. You can read about their perspective of my visit (Hilldrup Welcomes Seth Waite), but let me share with you my experience.

Hilldrup’s Commitment to Excellence

  1. Engaged Leadership — Hilldrup is led by a strong collection of leaders who work together. From engaging with Charles W. McDaniel (President & CEO) to various members of his team throughout operations, sales, marketing, technology, and admin, I was impressed with the desire to be the best. The leadership talked openly about areas where their business was working to improve and what areas were next in their roadmap. Hilldrup has many strengths, but a clear one is their culture of working together to constantly improve.
  2. Committed to Learning — My trip was focused on sharing research, insights, and strategies that have been discovered in the Transportation & Logistics industry. I came to Hilldrup during the busiest time of year, but they made time to look ahead and keep on learning. It was impressive to see a committed group of more than 20+ leaders come together and engage in deep conversations about their industry and future. I was also impressed by the model home they had inside of their home office. It gave every employee the ability to truly understand how to be the very best. That commitment to excellence starts with learning at Hilldrup.
